Organization of The Event
This is year, Milan Fashion Week Woman’s will consist of 61 fashion shows, 57 presentations and 6 events.
The Fashion Week will be inaugurated on the evening of 24th February at 9:00 pm with the digital party “CNMI MEETS CLUB DOMANI”, on the Instagram profile cameramoda. There will be DJset and the performance by Andrea Ratti & Sergio Tavelli and the queens of Club Domani.
The first event will open with a video tribute to Beppe Modenese, died on the 21th November 2020. Beppe Modenese was honorary president of the National Chamber of Italian Fashion.
Brunello Cucinelli, Italian stylist and entrepreneur, will be live from the Umbrian village of Solomeo. Alessandro dell’Acqua will also be present for Elena Mirò, Del Core, Dima Leu, Onitsuka Tiger and Fabio Quaranta. Most of the events will be online, a cause of emergency Covid.
“Some fashion shows will be with a minimal presence of professionals, journalists and selected buyers – Carlo Capasa, president of Camera Moda.
Versace will not show at Milan Fashion Week Woman’s. The designer will present the Fall-Winter 2021 collection exclusively in digital format.
“Having a digital event has its advantages. One of these is the ability to connect with the public when you think it is the right time. The decision to present the Fall/Winter 2021 collection a few days after Milan Fashion Week does not affect on the fact that Versace remains a proud member of the Camera della Moda and that the brand will always be one of the main exponents and a great supporter of the Italian fashion system” – Donatella Versace.
Inclusione e diversità nella Milano Fashion Week Woman’s
Aside from being a digital fashion edition, a special section dedicated to the “Black Lives Matter in Italian Fashion” project that wants to celebrate inclusion and diversity, highlighting the talent of five POC (people of color) creatives:
Joy ljeoma Meribe – MODAF DESIGNS; Karim Daoudi – KARIM DAOUDI; Claudia Gisèle Ntsama – GISFAB; Fabiola Manirakiza – FRIDA-KIZA; Pape Mocodou Fall alias Mokodu – MOKODU, who will have the digital platform and special visibility available for their creative performances. In partnership with Rinascente, it will open a pop-up shop dedicated to the collection of 11 of the most promising young designers of the Italian scene.
The CNMI (National Chamber of Fashion Milan) website will host some thematic rooms including:
- the room dedicated to sustainability “Designer for The Planet” with the collections of 6 emerging Italian brands;
- the room in collaboration with Confartigianato, curated by Sara Maino Sozzani, to promote five crafts of excellence of Made in Italy.
Urban Vision will broadcast the videos of the fashion shows and other contents of the Milan Fashion Week Women’s through a series of maxi screens positioned in strategic points of the city of Milan. The event can be followed from all over the world on milanofashionweek.cameramoda.it.
