Care & Maintenance

Discover The Proper Way to Take Care of Your Shoes

Only through scrupulous care is it possible to maintain the softness, elasticity and the right degree of shine of the shoe for a long time.

In order to maintain the unaltered quality of the shoe over time, we recommend treating it only with natural products.

SHOE CARE TIPS

Our professional Artisans at Fratelli Borgioli share some golden tips for shoe care

The same pair of shoes should not be worn for two consecutive days: shoes need to rest at least 24 hours.

If shoes are completely wet due to rain or snow, immediately insert a shoetree and lay them on their side: let them dry away from heat sources.

In order not to alter its shape, always use a shoehorn when wearing shoes, regardless of the model.

In its absence, a handkerchief will do the job: place it under the heel, slide the foot in and at the same time remove the handkerchief.

Once you remove shoes, immediately insert the shoetree: it is recommended to use a wooden shoetree in order to correct any creases and to maintain the original shape of the shoe until the next use.

If you don’t plan to wear a pair of shoes for a long time, coat the shoes with a thin layer of polish, put them in a cloth bag, and keep them in a cardboard box, sole-down.

In order to carry out an effective maintenance, it is necessary to have a set of tools carefully selected and matched to the shoe colour.
